Meet Crystal

I am a UC President’s Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Political Science at the University of California, Irvine. I received my PhD in Political Science from the University of California, Los Angeles.  My research examines the role of social identities and their intersections in public opinion of social movements. More broadly I study racial politics, Black-Latinx inter-group relations, intersectionality, Black feminist politics, and social movements. My book project explores women of color’s experiences in activist organizations and the role of public opinion in their leadership. Additionally, my work has been supported by the American Political Science Association Centennial Grant and the Center for American Women and Politics. My publications include the American Political Science Review, Political Behavior, and the Washington Post
